Family Works Northern in Eastern Bay of Plenty
In Eastern Bay of Plenty we provide:

social work support, including through the Social Workers in Schools programme under which we have two social workers operating in Kawerau schools providing early intervention and preventative social work services to young people and their families,

The group programmes available in Eastern Bay of Plenty are:
The Incredible Years: A parenting programme aimed at providing parents/caregivers with useful information and practical guidelines on how to handle a variety of challenges. It consists of weekly two-hour group sessions for a minimum of 10 weeks.
WAVE: A Family Court approved programme for women in abusive relationships, past or present. It consists of weekly group sessions for 10 to 14 weeks, helping enable women to make more positive choices for themselves and their children.
Restore: A Family Court approved programme for children aged 5 to 17 years old who have been exposed to violent domestic relationships. It aims to help participants learn non-violent problem solving techniques and to develop a sense of roles and responsibilities in building relationships and self esteem. Consists of weekly two-hour group meetings for eight weeks.
Parenting through Separation
: A Ministry of Justice-funded information programme for parents who are going through or considering separation. It aims to help parents support their children through this difficult time. It consists of two free two-hour sessions.
Strengthening Step-families: A programme to assist couples in the process of, or already living in a blended/step family, to build stronger relationships. The course encourages communication, and emphasises the importance of partnering whilst parenting. It consists of weekly two-hour group sessions over six weeks.
